Date: November 2, 2018
Client: Snow Valley Mountain Resort
Project Type: Web Accessibility
When Snow Valley Mountain Resort decided to redesign their website, they wanted to ensure that the new snow-valley.com looked and felt as incredible as the heart of the resort itself. During the collaboration and brainstorming stage, our CEO Jordan felt strongly that the best way to reach their audience was inclusion.

Snow Valley Mountain Resort is known for being the last family-owned resort in Southern California along with its incredible winter activities, including ski slopes, terrain parks, and a learning center. Whether a day on the slopes consists of sleds and hot chocolate or double black diamonds, there truly is something for everyone. Their website needed to reflect that level of inclusion.

Digital Mountaineers uses the internationally recognized web accessibility guidelines that are developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) known as Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

For this project, we utilized the latest WCAG standards, WCAG 2.1.

If you’re an animal lover like most of us here a If you’re an animal lover like most of us here at DM, then perhaps you too have noticed a change in your pet during the pandemic. They’ve adjusted to being around their humans 24/7.
Luckily for the Digital Mountaineer mascots, they get to have us around all the time, since we have always been and will always be remote!
But recently, the New Yorker shared some hilarious “solutions” to remedy separation anxiety in your pet. Take a look at the slides for some of their suggestions, or click the link in our bio to read the article. It gave us a giggle and we hope it gives you one too.

We are proud to be an organization that observes J We are proud to be an organization that observes Juneteenth as a paid holiday, now and always.
Juneteenth is the oldest national commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. From its Galveston, Texas origin in 1865, the observance of June 19th as the African American Emancipation Day has spread across the United States and beyond. (via Juneteenth.com)
It is an important day to remind us that the work of undoing racism is not done. And though we’ve come a long way, there is much left to do. Today is a day to learn and listen and plan how to move forward and build an equitable future for all.

We want to offer a big congratulations to our Foun We want to offer a big congratulations to our Founder Jordan, as he not only talks the talk in terms of helping those who help others, but he walks that walk. While he is still a vital part of the team at Digital Mountaineers, he has now joined the incredible Positive Impact Organization, The Trevor Project, as their very first technical program manager!
The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning) young people.
Fun Fact: Our Digital Marketing Director Jennifer and Web Content Manager Natalie have both worked at the Trevor Project in the past as trained counselors for their suicide hotline.
Since it is Men’s Mental Health Week, we want to highlight that the Trevor Project’s hotline is open 365 days, 24/7. If you are feeling lost, there’s help. Call 866-488-7386
