For the last 6 months, we have donated social media management time to an incredible nonprofit, Cancer Kinship. Founded by Yolanda Origel, a cancer survivor herself, Cancer Kinship is a community where anyone affected by cancer–no matter where they stand in their journey– are able to brave the storm together, confidently and fearlessly, resulting in improved qualities of life and increased long-term survival rates for all.

Knowing that Yoli’s goal for Cancer Kinship as an organization is connection and socialization amongst survivors and patients, we focused our social media time on a similar platform: increasing engagement and organically growing the Cancer Kinship networks.
As the Executive Director & Founder, Yoli wears many hats, which often included being her own social media manager. When we first came on board, Digital Mountaineers conducted a full social media analysis across all of Cancer Kinship’s platforms, and provided a detailed social media strategy to make sure that all posts can receive maximum engagement. By monitoring all posts, creating original content, sourcing relevant content from like-minded organizations/nonprofits, we created more brand awareness for Cancer Kinship. This is a vital part in making sure survivors and current patients know that Cancer Kinship is there to help them, and to make sure they know what services are available to them.

-Increase engagement on Instagram by 6%, for a total of 19.42% and increased followers by over 300, for a total of 691 followers
-Increase engagements on Facebook by 54%, for a total of 326 engagements per post and increased video watching from 0% to 28.96%
-Increase engagement on LinkedIn to 16.49%
-Create customized banners and highlight covers for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
-Created a fully redesigned website homepage for future usage
-Analyzed best times to post on all social platforms
-Supported fundraising events with graphics created along with social strategy
